The CRAZIEST WEEK!

Okay, so for the first time I am actually going to be starting this letter FIRST THING so that I can get everything in! The problem is that I won't have long because the branch wants to take us up to go ice-skating (it is a really crazy thing to do here since it doesn't snow and the only ice they have seen is in the Freezer) So they are all super excited and want to go up early. I will try to fit everything in with what little time I have!

So this week really was incredible! We saw a lot of miracles, a lot of disappointments, followed by more miracles, with a few CRAZY things in between! Doesn't that just get you excited to read what is below this .

Alright folks, lets dive into the week of Elders Gish and Anderson!

We start things off pretty normal on P-day, nothing too special. At night we met with one of my favorite (actually by far the favorite) member down here, Allie Cai. She is a SUPER strong member and is always doing anything she can to push the work forward. For example, this Sunday she was little skipping between 4 different seats in Church (Little kids she had to keep quite, our new member, a less active that came, and these two SUPER shy girls). Long story short, she is a sooooper baller. We talked to her about eternal families and the importance of the temple stuff! It was pretty sweet. After we played this game called 三國殺 (Sahn Guo Sha) It is EXACTLY like Bang, but all in Chinese (so obviously I am super good....haha) But it was funny because Allie and I convinced Elder Anderson that Sherry (another player) was his enemy and so he killed her! Then he found out she was his partner and got sooo sad hahaha. It was a funny moment.

But here we go with some crazy:

So we got home and found out that our Elders Quorum President had gotten hurt. So we called him to see what was up and he said that he had broken a few ribs and was in the ICU. At first Elder Anderson and I were like"....okay buddy....come on, a few ribs? And you are in the ICU? Roll up your shirt man. Ribs will heal, you don't need to be in the ICU" (Of course we don't say this over the phone. But we decided to go visit him and share a spiritual message and stuff. So we get there thinking that we can go visit anytime. But we get there and this lady tells us that we can't visit unless it is during the approved hours. Then she asks, wait....are you going to visit Mr.方(fang). and we say yes, then her eyes get a little wide and say, okay, okay come on in. So we go in and see him. First off his wife says, "oh thank goodness you came! I am going to take a small break, see you again in an hour!" Yeah...it was a looooong hour haha. So first off we see him and it doesn't look so bad except for all these crazy tubes going in and out of him and the fact that his right hand looks like an elephants leg! It was wild! So obviously we asked him what happened and he tells us that we had been taking these pills and that it made him faint while going on a walk through this tall building and because of it he fell out of a window SIX STORIES UP! he fell onto a 1 story tin roof and then fell to the ground. He wrecked his wrist and some fingers, cracked a ton of ribs, one of which lacerated a lung, and cracked his head and it started bleeding inside. We were like...WHAT THE HECK! THAT IS WAY MORE THAN A FEW RIBS! Moral of the story don't jump to call someone a wuss before you know the whole story haha. After that though we left and his wife came up to us and asked us some questions. Then she asked if he knew what REALLY happened. We said what we knew and she said....no....Then related to us the true story, which I am sorry to say I probably cannot write about over here...you will have to ask me when I get home....lets just say....A Beautiful Mind...

So that was an interesting day.

Wednesday we hop on Facebook to do our thang. I look in my inbox and see the message that I have been waiting for since I started being a facebook missionary! It was a Lady named Ruby, I have never met her, never talked to her, nothing. Shortly stated the message said, "Hi, I know you don't know me and I wish I had told you earlier but here is why I am writing this to you. I was going through a hard time and was looking for comfort, I was on facebook one day and saw a friend liked something you posted, read it, got really interested and read all your posts. That lead me to your blog and to the mission blog. Because of it I started meeting with missionaries and got baptized!" I was like...AHHH!!!! I was not a big fan of Facebook....then BAM! I get that and I am ALL FOR IT! It was a HUGE miracle! ONE MORE face book miracle. I was teaching this girl a LONG time ago in 小港 named Caroline. Well..I found her on facebook, started chatting for a bit and found out she was still interested but the missionaries awhile ago had dropped her. I re-referred her to the proper missionaries....they just called me yesterday and said that Caroline has agreed to get baptized and wanted me to come down to preform it! I was SUPER honored. So hopefully I can send pics of that soon. We never know who is watching or what they are looking for...we need to constantly be that light of Christ that shines so bright that it draws others in! Just like my little brother Gage! I remember so clearly that when he smiled or laughed, so did everyone else! He was and is a true example of shining the light of Christ! We can all 'make the difference, be the difference.' :)

THURSDAY comes around the corner. A member calls us and tells us that a super old grandma that we had talked to once before (that is his neighbor) just passed away cause she had a stroke. He asked us to go visit the family. So we head over thinking that we are going to stop by and say hello and just pay our respects and stuff with the member there, since we don't know much about Taiwanese culture when it comes to funerals and such. But...that wasn't the case. We got there and he wasn't there so we call him and he says, "no no no, you just go, I can't make it. You just go and teach them a lesson. It will be okay." "Did you tell them we were coming over?" "No." "ummm...." "I gotta go, goodluck" hahaha. So we rolled up our sleeves and strutted into that blue tent (where they do the funeral proceedings.) Introduced ourselves and said that we knew her from a long time ago and wanted to come pay our respects and such. So what do they do? Grab to big incense sticks and give them to us and have us do these weird bow up and down things while holding the sticks and one of the people there say a prayer in Taiwanese....which I didn't understand. The whole time in my heart I am praying SUPER hard to God just saying, sorry if this is wrong, we just want to help this family, please soften their hearts! FINALLY it is over and we walk over to the family. They invite us to sit down and we have a pretty cool lesson with them because they started asking us questions! The Lord totally heard my prayers! It was super awesome but totally crazy that we 拜拜'd!!! (Bai bai).

On Friday...it was a pretty normal day actually....yeah...boring...I know...just full of normal missionary stuff! I am super grateful for my companion! I wrote about companions on facebook. I don't know if you all have a chance to get on and check it out, but if you do...I would love your support on Facebook! :)

Saturday....I went to hell and back! Literally! The day was super great and fun and everything until about 6 at night. We finally got to stop for Dinner. We got to this Noodle shop and ordered this meal that the shop called Hell Noodles. We thought, heck we are missionaries, hell doesn't stand a chance! So we started putting down these CRAZY hot noodle! I felt like I had a hole in my throat...it was wild! But with about 3 more bites and a good bit of soup to still drink I feel SUPER full. Then Elder Anderson finishes his and starts calling me a girl for not finishing mine...I am NOT havin' that haha. So I put it all down like a man!...but soon I feel a little sick so I am like, hey man lets get out of here! So we start walking to our bikes and I walk right past our bikes and say, "whhoaa I need to go for a small walk man." This walks leads me into an ally, and ally that has a drain, that is now FILLED with my vomit haha. It was pretty violent crazy vomit too! NOT GOOD! My eyes like blew up too! My head and everything hurt so bad! I felt bad contacting people after cause I looked like a vampire or something with bloodshot eyes and those huge black/red rings around my eyes from all the bursted blood vessels! hahaha...my eyes are still in a good bit of pain and there are still small rings around them. (It was pretty embarrassing going to church like that haha).

Then Sunday no one shows up to church and we were SUPER disappointed! And we go around contacting and what not and again...SUPER nothing haha. But we got to go down to see these Dragon Boat Races with Allie and her less active son. It was really neat and we got to get in with the son so that was finally good! And at night, when we seemed to have nothing going for us we wrote a fast note, got on our bikes, and biked about an hour out to an investigators house! We gave him the note and prayed with him and then had to leave because of our curfew. But in his prayer he talked about how loved he felt and how he wanted to change! #LeadMeGuideMe

I love this area and this ward so much! I hope that everyone this week can go out and talk to the missionaries! Member or not, just talk to them. It will make them feel good and I KNOW you will feel good after :).

Love you all!
SHINE BRIGHT!!!

Pics are of, after puking experience, a dragon boat, my comp and I after spending some time on a roof at night during a small typhoon/lightning storm (SUPER COOL TO WATCH!) (The pants wet like that cause I had them rolled up).

The Best Weeks Are Yet to Come!

Well Elder Anderson and I are going to be staying together! We are both super stoked to stay together! So many great things are going to happen this next few weeks! I really stink...but I really have no time AGAIN! I am SUPER SORRY!

So really fast. This week has been really exciting! We were able to meet with a few of our great investigators and they are getting close to baptism! We have been so blessed down here.

To make up for it I am going to send a bunch of pictures!

Stories:

Had to clear a HUGE spider out of the chapel...literally as big as my hand, maybe bigger! SCARY!

We had a great family home evening with our RC sherry and we ate mashed potatoes! SO AWESOME!!

gosh I can't think...sorry! This week was pretty normal!

OH we bought McDees and went to the roof of our building to eat and wait for the Move Call! Luckily we will be staying together!

Love you all!

INVITE: Set goals and make plans for coming closer to the Lord this week :) What are you going to do and how will you get it done?

Love you!

Happy Mothers DAY!!!!

So I don't have a lot of time today! But it is TOTALLY worth it because I got to skype my Parents and got to see my studly brother in New Zealand! For those of you who know what a 有辦法 Part is....he has one! That is my boy!!! WHOO!!! Gage is looking like the hulk too! Jeeze! I am afraid he will totally beat me in basketball and arm wrestling and extreme underwater basket weaving when I return! He also is a Dr. Who genius!#TotallyJealous

Okay so a quick run through of the week with my little amount of time!

We exchanged with the Zone Leaders this week! I loved it! The Zone Leader Elder Magnuson is a boss! The only thing is that on that exchange I got into TWO bike accidents...yeah...no bueno (thats not chinese!?!?). One was crazy too cause it was just me standing on the side of the road on my bike writing on a small card when out of NOWHERE this old grandma on a vespa smashed head on into me and threw me from my bike!....she was a big grandma alright!? haha. It was crazy! I have some nice bruises from that one! :) On the exchange we also taught this AWESOME family! I bore testimony of some things that I hold very dear to my heart. The tears were flowing in that lesson. It was powerful and it is experience like that that help me to know that I am not alone in this work but that the spirit is testifying of what I say! I on my own can do nothing, but with him I can do all!

FOR MY PAST DISTRICTS IN 小港...THE NOODLE KING IS GONE!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! I ALMOST CRIED!

We are teaching this AWESOME woman named Linda. Well in English class some people started asking us some deep questions about God and Life after this Life....luckily for us....that morning we had just taught Linda the Second Lesson (Plan of Salvation) So before we could even answer the questions she whipped out this pamphlet and started saying, all the answers are right in here! She bore testimony and taught! AHHH SHE IS THE BOMB!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR AMAZING LETTERS! I OWE YOU ALL SO MUCH! IT IS SUCH A HUGE BLESSING TO HAVEYOUR WONDERFUL SUPPORT!

I heard that the returning missionaries on their homecoming speech day had the primary kids sing I am a Child of God in Chinese! That would totally make me cry!! That is so cool!

SHOUT OUT TO MY WONDERFUL MOTHER! SHE IS THE BESTEST EVER! I posted on Facebook about it all, and I don't have a ton of time so go look at that...but She is my angel! She has raised me and loved me and taught me who I need to be by example and word! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MOM!

Okay before I leave I have to write this cool miracle!! So during ZTM I got to see ELDER ROBERTS!!! I miss that kid so much! But then the zone leaders asked us some cool questions! They said "Who believes that they could help someone set a baptismal goal this month?" All the hands shot up, "This week?" Same basic thing "Today?" A LOT of hands went down. "Within the hour?" Now it was just me and one other kid with their hand up. Well the zone leaders called me up and said, do you really believe that? Of course I said YES. So they said, "Okay...go and do it...you have one hour. See ya!" I was like...."oh gosh....dang it....what did I just do!" Especially cause president came down to see us! AHHH

Well...Miracles ARE REAL. We went out and the Whole Zone Prayed for us, my amazing comp and I prayed to glorify God in this experience. And it happened. Within 1 min I started talking to a guy on the street....within 10 min we had taught a small lesson and set a goal with him. Within 15 min we were back at the church with his info! IT WAS INCREDIBLE! Everyone was totally blown away! Including us....it was totally the spirit! AN AMAZING MIRACLE! I reckon that right as the Zone kneeled to pray is when I started talking to that man. I guess that the Elders that were over his area just met with him and he was Golden as ever and asked about me and my comp! SUPER AWESOME!

The Church is True. Go and Share it with someone this week! Just share a small testimony or miracle! Make that a natural part of your lives! You will all do that right? I know that as you do that you will be blessed and will help your friends and family to also receive those blessings!! LOVE YOU ALL!

Wasabi is the Windex of Taiwan

image

Yes that was a My Big Fat Greek Wedding joke! :) But really...Wassabi is magical. My companion and I went down to a fresh fish market this week, which if you ever ever gone to a REAL fresh fish market...it is creepy...But we got some Sashime(Spelling?) which is just fresh un-cooked slabs of fish that you eat with Wassabi and Soy sauce. Well....when there is about 5 pounds of wassabi in front of two Elders....sometimes a "who is manlier competition starts"....the funny things is that NEITHER of us look very manly as we are eating this fish and Crying our eyes out! haha. The Wassabi is CRAZY! Oh man...I think I actually fried brain cells that day! Not to mention both of our stomachs were in pain the rest of the evening....but It is the experience that counts :)

I started a really cool experiment that I hope everyone can try at one point or another! So everyone should have copies of the Preach My Gospel right?? (GENERAL CONFERNCE INVITE!) Well what I am doing is I am going to take to the missionary lessons!!! I am going through and reading the Preach my gospel lessons in Chapter 3. I am going to meet with myself about 2 times a week. Share with myself the lessons, share scriptures, give myself commitments and invites and give examples to help myself understand better (All nicely provided by the Preach My Gospel). I am then in between visits with myself actually do the commitments, things like Read the Book of Mormon Into and start daily scripture study and pray to find out if this is all true. I bought a new Book Of Mormon to do this with so I can make new marks and stuff. I also am using a study journal to record the questions I have in the lessons and in my personal reading. As well as the answers that I get from the lessons, reading, prayer, and personal revelation! So far I just finished the first lesson and will be meeting with myself again tomorrow! It is really fun and aweomse! You should all try it to! (If you are not a baptized member or for some reason can't get your hands on a Preach My Gospel/have lost interest in church, then just ask the missionaries to come over and help you do this experiment! I am sure they would LOVE to help out :)) I have already learned and grown so much from it!

image

One of our most AMAZING investigators is going to America for a few months with a work thing....so if you see any people that are Chinese and don't speak ANY English...it might be him :) so say hello :) haha. We are sad that WE probably wont see him again, but we know that he will get baptized when he returns and we are excited for that!

We are meeting with another amazing Woman named Linda! She is super awesome and can feel the spirit very well! In our lesson she told us, "There is just a big difference between you two and your church and where I went before...it is hard to describe but I can feel it. I like it here more." Can you say BLESSINGS! She is an honest seeker of truth and look, blessings come. Blessings that you can really FEEL! So take that Satan! And yes, that means that all of you that haven't tried it yet or have fallen away...just plllllleeeeaaaasssseeee come back and again FEEL the amazing blessings that God has in store for you! I know your life right now might be pretty good. However, I promise you that it is no where even close to what it COULD be with the blessings that the true restored gospel brings into your lives!

Thank you everyone for your letters and your support on Facebook! I want you to all know that every letter and like and all that mean so much to me!! Thank you all so so much for your love!

So I don't know if I have mentioned this in any other emails, but my Good friend mister Ben-ya-min Johnson out in the land of IDALY! (Chinese pronunciation) presented a wonderful idea that I am now taking part in called the 6 months to sexy. It is this, within the last six months work out as HARD AS YOU CAN and just get big! For those of you that know me well...you know that my two brothers, Dane and Chase are MUCH bigger than I am. So if you have any ideas for gettin big fast. Please let me know so that I can still be king of the hill when we all return :) haha.

I love you all so much!

Have an amazing week and like always,

SHINE BRIGHT!!!

Hittin the Standards!!!

THIS WEEK WAS A WEEK OR MIRACLES!...But I guess....what week isn't a week of miracles when you are out 24/7 serving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ!? :) So, lets dive right into it!

image

東港, this area was supposed to be a "dead area" meaning that nothing is going on here and nothing will happen. I don't know you started that silly rumor because this place is AMAZING! All of the people are SO GREAT, the food is good, the companion is better and the miracles are the best! We have been working hard and leaving the rest to the Lord....which means that we give him a lot....haha, but he sure does pick up all that slack! We were finally able to hit the Mission Standards down here! (Numbers givin' to us by our Mission President, it kind of gives us all a goal to hit to help us to keep working hard, it is not like a quota at all....rather it is more like him telling us what score we have to get on our Finals to get an A in the class....okay that was a bad example too haha...but the point is that it pushes us :)) So anyways, Elder Anderson and I were SUPER stoked to hit the standards because it just showed us SOO clearly that this is the Lord's work, there is NO WAY that we could have done it on our own! NO WAY JOSE!

We did a lot oh fun things this week and met a lot of amazing people! First off, last Monday we just played around 東港 and I got to see the area since it was my first real P-day down there! So nothing too special happened that I can think of....and it is even worse now that I am totally stinking at writing in my journal! I KNOW I KNOW!...gotta fix that for sure. But I do know that on that Monday night we were able to hold a big Family Home Evening that Monday night! SUPER FUN! If you are not holding regular Family Home Evenings, just start now (There is your invite!! If you are already doing it than I invite you to brush off your shoulders and keep going!!) :) SO FUN AND SO WORTH IT! We played some card games (yes we can play all chinese card-games now hehe) and had a small spiritual share and just had a good time strengthening the amazing people here! There are only about 15-25 people that come to church regularly and so they really look to us missionaries, it is kind of sad to see, but also so amazing that this people have so much faith! I love and am so grateful that I have gotten to know each one of them so well! And what made it even better was that at church this week we had SO many people show up...maybe around 40 or so. And everyone just got SO EXCITED! It was totally a huge miracle! LOVED IT!

After church we held what is known as a fireside (a small specialized training thing...but also fun...it is hard to explain haha, mom help! :)) So yeah, we had a fireside on missionary work (of course), Elder Anderson and I didn't really know about it till last minute but we still had a GREAT TIME and were really able to feel the spirit working in this little amazing area!

image

Side note...it was totally awesome because here they just use Electric Pianos for everything in church. So they asked if I could play....I said yes...(WHAT?! You can play the Piano!!?!?....noo....but I do know how to pick a song on an Electric piano! :)) So people thought I could play until I started playing with one hand....then no hands haha.

I was also able to meet with President Blickenstaff for an interview this week! That man is so inspired and totally knows what he is doing! I am so glad to have a leader like him here! The things he teaches us go so far beyond our little two years here in Taiwan...they are things that I will need to know and utilize with my future family and the rest of my life!

I want to share something with everyone that I found while I was studying the scriptures, pondering and praying. I very often hear people tell me that I need to forget myself as I go out to work. I was thinking about this and I have had a small problem in trying to think about the difference in going out and being this robot missionary and in being a true disciple of Jesus Christ....I think the problem is that too often people really do FORGET themselves in the work. They separate their mission life and their "other life." This is what can cause people to just become total robots or to go back home after 2 years of sanctified service and quickly stop going to church. I think that the difference lies in forgetting yourself...forgetting who you really are. I would like to propose that instead of forgetting ourselves and going to work we REMEMBER ourselves and go to work! Remember who you REALLY are as a child of God. Remember that these people around you are your brothers and sisters. Remember that God Loves you and that he has givin' you so many blessings! Remember why you are here, remember where you are going, remember what is important! :) (Thanks for ingraining that in my head Mum!! :)you are the B.E.S.T BEST of all the R.E.S.T. REST!) It was a really interesting thought for me. There have been way too many times when I have really forgotten myself. And it is at those times that I am especially grateful for the ability to repent and to truly change our core being. We will NEVER have to say "that is just how I am," because "just who we are" is children of God, eternally progressing beings. And we can ALWAYS move forward! I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each of us and that because of his Atonement we can progress!

Love you all!

The Life of a Two missionary District

Yup...that is right! My old districts have had anywhere from 6-10 missionaries in them! Lots of fun and a LOT of responsibility over those missionaries...but not out here in lovely 東港(Tungkang). Out here it is JUST Elder Anderson and I and we are about 2 hours away from the closest missionaries! So District Training Meeting, Teaching English, P-Day....everything is just us two! :) Do you just feel the love? haha. But really, Elder Anderson is AWESOME and I love working with him so these next 6 weeks are going to be AWESOME!

image

So here is some funny stories really fast! And to back these up, you have to know that 東港 really is a pretty out there area. It has been an area that has been....in a drought of the spirit I guess you can say. There was a string of missionaries that came through that just gave up because there isn't a whole lot going on out here (MISSIONARIES! DON'T DO THAT! GOD IS PREPARING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!!!). And so people haven't seen missionaries often. Out here more people have asked me why I am here than in my whole mission put together. (Which is a good thing cause it is a good opener, but a bad thing cause its like...are you kidding? We are the only white people that ever show up here and there is only like 1000 people here...you have never seen us? haha). So there is your background!

So at McDees we were teaching a first lesson! (McDees is a prime spot for spiritual enlightenment...that is why Dad always took us there when we were younger ;)) And in the middle of this lesson these two high school girls walk over and TOTALLY interrupt our lesson and say..."Can we take a picture with you two?" Then they barge in and basically try to jump on us and start snapping pictures...Needless to say, bad situation and bad influence on the person we were meeting with. We handled it well after....but man. That was a scary moment (yes....girls are scary...).

But a SUPER cool thing, is that even though we are far out...the closest Elders and closest area is 小港!! (XiaoGang!) Remember that place? That is my first area! I was there for almost a year! :) So it brought back a LOT of awesome memories and felt a little bit like home! That got me so excited to go out and just work hard!

image

I introduced my family to everyone and USUALLY ALMOST 100% of the time everyone says "WOW! Your Mom is so young and so beautiful!" And they just can't get over the fact that I am the son of that woman! (I know it is hard to believe that someone like me get get born to such an AMAZING angel!) However this time, everyone was like, "Wow! your dad is SOOO COOL! IS he going to ever come to Taiwan! I wan't to meet him! He seems so awesome!! WOW! Bring him over here quick!!" hahahaha. So yes...Dad IS Superman and IS famous in Taiwan now.

This is going to sound a little weird...but I loved it and it helped me a ton! I was havin' a bit of a rough day, still doing all I can, but it was just one of THOSE days. So anyways, it was about time for lunch and I walked into a place to get food and what was on the speakers? Nickelback! I haven't heard them for SOOO LONG! Now I know there are a lot of haters out there but I LOVE Nickelback haha. Anyways, it was EXACTLY what I needed to get me pumped up again! The Lord just knows and he really does just give you little blessings here and there cause he loves you and he knows! HE KNOWS! :)

This week we were only able to help one kid find his way to church but he is AWESOME! He is also meeting with the Jehovahs Witness's because he REALLY wants to know which church is true! So he went out and missionaries found him! :) He is SUPER COOL! And has such a pure desire! I hope so much that the Lord can use me and my companion to help him realize the truth of the restored gospel and its truth! I know it is true! I know that any accomplishment I have of anything that we do is because of the Lord and his mercy! :) I LOVE THE GOSPEL!!! :):)

I think that is about it for the week!

I read an awesome scripture in Proverbs this week...I think it was chapter two and listening to your parents. And 1 Nephi 1 verse 1 talks about the importance of parents...It is pretty obvious that listening to parents are important!! I love my parents and am so Grateful for them! This week I hope everyone can go out and just express their thanks for their families!!! :) Show them your love! :)

I just can't express how much I love the plan that God has for us!

Well the end of this week was a little wild! On Saturday we got the Move Call saying that I would not be moving! That I would be staying with the amazing Elder Teerlink for at least another 6 weeks! Obviously we were super stoked! We have just loved every second of doing this work together! So of course we are super pumped, PLUS ON TOP OF ALL THAT it was GENERAL CONFERENCE! #RealTimeRevelation! We were having a good time and were able to be with lots of great friends and in the middle of the Sunday Morning Conference who calls me? President Blickenstaff! Of course I get up immediately to answer. As I do he says, "Elder I need you to do something for me." (Not those exact words but along those lines.) He last minute changed some things and has sent me to 東港! So that is where I am right now, in the B.E.A.UTIFUL land of DongGang. It is an amazing place! Over the phone President called it a "hard area." But I really don't believe in hard areas! It may be struggling a bit now...but that will all end soon!! I was sad to leave Elder Teerlink, but I know that Elder Anderson and I are going to work miracles here through our faith, obedience, and diligence! He already seems like EXACTLY what I want in a companion! So hopefully very soon you will be hearing about the SWEET miracles down here!

On another happy note LAI HONG QUAN GOT BAPTIZED!!! :) It was amazing! He will stay strong too, the ward did an AMAZING job of loving him and showing him his next steps, like going to the temple and becoming a leader. He is awesome! I will totally miss him, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles #BruceAlmighty! What is a bit sad....but also SUPER EXCITING is that next week YongKang (the area I just left) will be having 2 baptisms and the week after that should be having another! :) It is SOOO Obvious how this is the Lords work and he is deeply involved! So needless to say, a BIG part of my heart is in YongKang, however I will do all that I need to and all I am asked to do!

Last week Elder Teerlink and I thought up a way to make 3,000,000$ before we are 30...so watch out world ;) haha. The things that happen at night on a mission are WONDERFUL haha.

So I want to take the rest of this and talk about what I learned from General Conference this last week...which if you haven't seen...go check it out at LDS.ORG....it was SO inspirational. Whether you are religious or not, LDS or not, you will benefit from it! So my invite this week is to just go watch at least ONE of the talks given in last weeks conference (if it is for the second time, then all the better!).

One of my favorite of all was... oh jeeze....haha. I just looked at my notes, I don't think I can pick a favorite, and there is so much there is no WAY I could fit it all in here...shooooot. Well lets just say it was amazing!! :)

Russel M Nelson told us this last week that Truth is Truth, it is from God and it will not change. I love that. Truth is Truth! That just makes so much sense! One thing I really don't enjoy out here is when people tell me that "That may be true and right for you, but it may not be that way for me." Does that make any sense at all!?! No. No it does not! That is like you trying to tell me that for ME 5x5=25 but for YOU 5x5=22. That just makes ZERO sense. Truth is Truth, and i'll tell you what. It is out there, it is real. And like any other teacher, I can tell you, anyone can tell you that 5x5=25 (i.e. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true and living church of God on the Earth). But until you go and take 5 groups of M&Ms with 5 in each group and count and see that there really is 25, then you wont know if I am just lying to you or not! And the great thing is that God has invited us, AND he gave us the M&Ms and said, just count, just do the experiment (i.e. read, pray, and go to church, AND meet with the Missionaries in your area....we are everywhere mwahahaha :)). I know that wasn't the best example, but you all understand right? 懂我的意思嗎?懂吧.好了. :) He also told us that when we keep the commandments we will be blessed 100% of the time! An APOSTLE said that! What a great promised blessing! He also said that when we don't keep the commandments that we will not be blessed 100% of the time! UhOh! Seems pretty clear that we should keep the commandments :).

There was SOO much more!..you just gotta go watch it!

So this past week my AMAZING BROTHER IN NEW ZEALAND sent me an Amazing story about an experience that he had! I don't have time or his permission to share it haha, but I want to thank everyone for keeping him in your prayers! Him Gageroo and Dane are the biggest parts of my life. My Brothers and I love them so much! We strengthen each other, push each other and love each other. That is one of the greatest blessings I have received from being apart of this church. Life long connections and friendships, brothers from other mothers ;) haha. But really. I just can't express how much I love plan that God has for us! It just seems so clear to me that it is a part of his big plan! Even outside of this church the Lord puts us in places to meet great life long friends! I just got back in contact with some of my AMAZING friends from Highschool! #lovin'life!

I love you all so much! Have a great week! Shine Bright!

My USB thing seems to not be working...Mom if you could go on Facebook to get pictures to show everyone that would be great! :)
